BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Over 3,700 Consumers Energy customers in the southern part of Branch County were affected by a power outage for several hours early Friday morning.
The outage was reported at 1:48 am. Consumers says on their web site the outage was caused by “equipment failure”.
Crews managed to fully restore power by 6:30 a.m.. Restoration was initially not expected until mid morning
The area affected was from East Fenn Road south to the state line and from Block Road east to South Ray-Quincy Road.
All of Coldwater Lake was out of power along with Branch County’s southern lakes.
Among the areas affected were Ovid, Kinderhook, Algansee, California, Bethel and Gilead Townships.
