COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency released another grim daily report on Friday as the latest COVID-19 outbreak in the three counties they serve shows no signs of letting up.
The Friday report indicated that there were two more COVID-19 related deaths in Branch County. The county has now had 19 deaths of persons who tested positive for COVID-19 including 14 since October 1.
There were 47 additional cases reported on Friday bringing the total number of cases in Branch County since the pandemic began up to 1,323. That number includes 366 cases reported since November 4.
Hillsdale County had 49 new cases on Friday. That county has had 864 cases and 31 deaths.
The C.H.A. also reported 42 new cases in St. Joseph County where there has been 1,752 COVID-19 cases and 28 deaths.
The number of new cases reported by the State of Michigan continues to be staggering. The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported on Friday there have been 8,516 new cases which the total since the pandemic began up to 224,741. The state says 7,929 deaths have been reported from persons who tested positive for COVID-19.
