COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported three more COVID-19 related deaths in Branch County on Monday.
That brings the death toll of the number of Branch County residents who tested positive for the virus up to 20 with 15 of the deaths reported since October 1.
Branch County had by far the most number of new COVID-19 cases of the three counties in the jurisdiction on Monday with 160 over the last three days. That brought the total number of cases since the first case was reported last March up to 1,483.
The C.H.A. says Hillsdale County has had 1,001 cases and 32 deaths while St. Joseph County has reported 1,846 cases and 29 deaths.
As of Monday at noon, the Calhoun County Public Health Department has had 4,290 cases with 93 deaths. There have been 1,646 persons released from isolation with another 1,056 out of quarantine. Of the 221 patients requiring hospitalization, 52 are now in a Calhoun County medical care facility.
The Michigan Department of Health Human Services reported 12,763 new cases from Sunday and Monday bringing the total number of Michigan residents to catch the virus up to 264,576. There were 55 additional deaths bringing the Michigan death rate up to 8,049. As of last Friday, there had been 138,862 who have recovered from the virus in Michigan.
