QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Just like in other communities, holiday celebrations in Quincy will be curtailed this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Quincy Village Manager Brittany Butler told the Village Council during a special meeting on Tuesday night that was held to approve various board appointments there will be no Trees In The Park this year due to coronavirus staffing problems.
The event, which is put on by the Quincy Chamber of Commerce, would have featured about 20 decorated trees. It’s hoped the event can be brought back in 2021.
But Butler told the Council there will be two trees at each of the village limit entrance signs and new downtown banners have just arrived. They hope to put the seven foot snowflakes up over the downtown light poles this week.
Butler said the giant snowman that was in the middle of the park last December will be back for kids to enjoy.
