COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners decided during their work session on Thursday morning to bring forward a resolution which authorizes a State of Emergency declaration in the county due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Branch County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Miner said the declaration is needed in part so that virtual meetings can continue to be held.
Commissioner Tom Matthew said the resolution perplexed him and he was concerned it might be used to shut down businesses. Commissioners Jon Houtz and Terri Norris assured him it would not be used for that purpose.
Formal action is scheduled to take place during the Commissioners meeting on Tuesday afternoon. The local declaration would expire on January 31st, 2021.

Since when did Terry Norris, the infamous former Prosecutor care about “abuse of power”?
Thanks for the recorded quotes. We need more of them from local governmental meetings.
