COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater B.P.U. Board of Directors approved the hiring of Donohue and Associates out of Grafton, Wisconsin on Wednesday night to complete a study into the future of the B.P.U.’s Water Resource and Recovery Facility.
The cost of the study is not to exceed $80,000.
B.P.U. Director Jeff Budd said in his memo to the board that the facility will eventually need to be expanded in order to keep up with expected increases in wastewater flows.
The plant was originally designed in the 1950’s.
Budd says the Donahue study would analyze the best method for treatment while projecting the capacity for the next 20 years.
In addition to providing a 20-year outlook on the community’s capacity needs, Budd said the study will also focus on new technologies and current infrastructure improvements.
