COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman says the county’s proposed 2021 budget is balanced and is ready to be approved by the Branch County Board of Commissioners on December 22.
As it stands now, the budget’s bottom line is just over $13-point-7 million. Norman says funds were taken from the Fund Balance, Capital Outlay and Contingencies. There were also reductions from some departments.
Norman said employee insurance choices still have to be made.
It was also noted that the county did not get all of the funds requested from some grants and they were still waiting for funds from other grants that were applied for.
A public hearing on the 2021 General Fund budget will take place during the Commissioners meeting on Tuesday afternoon.
