COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Police say five men were involved in the Sunday afternoon armed robbery of the AT&T store at 730 East Chicago in Coldwater.
The robbery was reported at 3:02 p.m.. Deputy Police Chief Patrick Beeman says the five suspects were driving a stolen white Jeep Grand Cherokee at the time of the incident. The vehicle was later located running and unoccupied at a nearby apartment complex.
Beeman says the five suspects switched to a different vehicle and fled the area.
A Branch County Sheriff’s Department K-9 was called in to assist with the investigation after the vehicle was found.
There were no injuries during the robbery but an ambulance was later dispatched to the store for a medical situation involving a female customer.
Sunday’s robbery was similar to what happened on the day before Thanksgiving when four suspects robbed the Marshall Verizon store of a number of cell phones.
After the Marshall suspects collected the phones from the safe, they ran out of the store and got into a black SUV. The vehicle was later found abandoned in a nearby parking lot on Arms Street. Witnesses saw the suspects get out of the SUV and into a silver sedan and left in an unknown direction.
Four suspects were also involved in a cell phone store robbery in Grand Rapids on the same day of the Marshall robbery.
