COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on Tuesday which authorizes a State of Emergency declaration in the county due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The declaration is needed in part so that virtual meetings can continue to be held.
It would also allow appropriation of resources and will help with continued funding.
The local declaration would expire on December 31st, 2021 or whenever the Commissioners feel it’s appropriate and safe enough to go back to face-to-face meetings. The Commissioners have not had an in person meeting since last March.
The resolution would not affect business or restaurant operations in the area.
