COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A request from Branch County Administrator Bud Norman that Assistant 911 Director Jean Ratkowski receive additional compensation for her work since October 1 was approved on Tuesday by the Branch County Board of Commissioners.
Ratkowski has been basically working two jobs since the retirement of long time 911 Director Kurt Spalding.
She will get a 20 percent increase to her base monthly salary retroactive to October 1 while she is the Interim 911 Director.
Board Chair Terri Norris pointed out that contrary to false information which has been posted on social media sites, the money for Ratkowski’s additional compensation is coming from money that were not spent for the former 911 Director’s salary. The money is not coming from the 911 surcharge that was approved by voters last month.
