COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners formally adopted the county’s 2021 budget on Tuesday.
The action came after there were no comments during a public hearing on the general fund budget.
County Administrator Bud Norman reported last week the budget was balanced. As it stands now, the budget’s bottom line is just over $13-point-7 million.
Norman says the budget was balanced after funds were taken from the Fund Balance, Capital Outlay and Contingencies. There were also reductions from some departments.
It was also noted that the county did not get all of the funds requested from some grants and they were still waiting for funds from other grants that were applied for.
Small changes still maybe needed since employee insurance choices are still being made.
