HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hillsdale Hospital staff and members of the Hillsdale area medical community have received their first Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines.
Those who were given vaccinations last week were classified by the Centers for Disease Control and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services as Tier 1a. The group includes physicians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, nurses, nursing assistants, respiratory therapists, other direct care workers, and any healthcare workers whose jobs put them in direct contact with patients or members of the public.
These individuals began receiving their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination, administered through Hillsdale Hospital with the support of the National Guard.
Hillsdale Hospital was able to administer the Pfizer vaccine thanks to access to a Hillsdale College ultra-low temperature freezer.
