BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A suspect was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court after he allegedly threatened his former girl friend and her current boyfriend with a knife in the suspect’s Gilead Township residence.
31-year-old Aundra Smolek was formally charged by prosecutors with two counts of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and a count of domestic violence.
He was being held in the Branch County Jail on a $50,000 bond. Smolek’s probable cause hearing in District Court was scheduled for January 7 with a preliminary exam set for January 12.
Michigan State Police say the incident took place at a home on Stoney Point Drive.
The former girl friend texted her mother Sunday night which said she was not able to willingly leave her former boyfriends’ house.
Troopers were told by the daughter and her new boyfriend that they came to the home to retrieve some of her belongings.
