PARK TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Police are looking for a suspect after his vehicle struck a gas station building in St. Joseph County on Monday afternoon.
Sheriff Mark Lillywhite says the hit and run crash took place in the 20000 Block of M-60 near Fishers Lake at about 1:15 p.m..
He says the suspect assaulted a clerk when confronted about the crash and then fled east on M-60 at a high rate of speed.
According to Lillywhite, the building sustained moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
The suspect vehicle was described as a red GMC Jimmy style vehicle with a black back hatch and a Michigan registration plate.
The suspect was described as being in his 40’s with a gray stocking hat and a winter coat that possibly had a logo for a plumbing company on it.
