LANSING, MI (WTVB) – 58th District State Representative Andrew Fink of Hillsdale is calling on Governor Gretchen Whitmer to allow Michigan restaurants to resume indoor dining.
The ban on indoor dining in the State of Michigan which was issued on November 18 in an attempt to curtail the number of COVID-19 cases is scheduled to expire this Friday. The order has been extended twice.
Fink said the governor must not further extend the restriction.
“Thousands of restaurant workers across Michigan are in dire straits,” Fink said. “They want to work, but they can’t. I hear from them daily, and I’m sure the governor has, too. It’s time for her to listen to her constituents and end the ban so they may resume safely working to support their families.”
He goes on to say, “Workers in the restaurant industry have proven that they can operate safely with proper protocols in place for both employees and customers. They should be allowed to work. I hope the governor will reassess her misguided decision and consider their struggles.”
Fink said in a statement issued by his office that his district which covers Branch and Hillsdale counties still has dozens of unresolved Unemployment Insurance Agency claims from people who have been unable to get the unemployment insurance payments.
Hopefully that means buffets also cause I need my fix on Chinese buffets and hopefully self serve also and if not that’s fine I’ll manage but still Chinese sounds amazing right now
