COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A decision by the Branch County Board of Commissioners on a updated 911 Service Plan and bylaws for the County is scheduled to take place during their Tuesday afternoon meeting.
Whatever differences there were between the Commissioners and members of the 911 Board seemed to have been worked out.
Branch County Commissioner Leonard Kolcz expressed optimism during Monday’s Bronson City Council meeting.
He said a meeting earlier in the day involving fellow County Commissioner Jon Houtz and a committee made of several 911 Board members went very well.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman also felt good about the meeting.
Houtz said during the Commissioners December 30 meeting that everybody agrees it’s time to stop kicking the can down the road.
Many local government, police and fire agencies felt the plan as originally presented left all of the authority and decision making with the County and relegated all of the other municipalities, law enforcement agencies, fire services, townships and public to strictly an advisory role.
