COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After over a year of discussions, the Branch County Board of Commissioners approved an updated 911 Service Plan and bylaws for the County on Tuesday afternoon.
Commissioner Jon Houtz said he and a few of the 911 shareholders went over the plan on Monday for almost two hours.
He said they then sent issues and concerns to Branch County attorney Bonnie Toskey for her review.
Toskey said she went over a list of 22 questions regarding wording and provisions in the plan. She spent nearly a half hour detailing her findings to the Commissioners.
Commissioner Leonard Kolcz objected to action being taken on “something they had not seen in writing”. He added the board was violating its own rules by not discussing it in a work session.
Houtz pointed out discussions have been going on for a year-and-a-half and it was time to move forward.
The service plan was adopted 4-1 with Kolcz voting no.
Final form not read or discussed just ram it through and be done with it.
