BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The case of a man who is accused of threatening his former girlfriend and her current boyfriend with a knife in late December was bound over to Branch County Circuit Court on Tuesday following a preliminary examination in District Court.
31-year-old Aundra Smolek is charged with two counts of unlawful imprisonment, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and a count of domestic violence.
He was arrested following the alleged incident in the suspect’s Gilead Township residence on Stoney Point Drive.
The former girlfriend texted her mother at one point and said she was not able to willingly leave the house.
Michigan State Police Troopers were told the two alleged victims came to Smolek’s home to retrieve some of her belongings.
Smolek is being held in the Branch County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
A Circuit Court arraignment is scheduled for February 1.
