COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was formally charged during a District Court arraignment last Friday with allegedly downloading child pornography onto his computer.
Following a Michigan State Police investigation that started last September, 44-year-old Christopher Jackson Fowler was charged by Branch County prosecutors with aggravated possession of child sexual abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime.
Prosecutors also filed a fourth time habitual offender sentencing enhancer against Fowler if he is convicted of the felony crimes.
Part of the investigation included a search warrant being served by the State Police on Fowler back on October 20 at his home on Hooker Street.
Fowler was arraigned on the same day he was booked at the Branch County Jail.
Bond was set at $50,000. If he should post bond, Fowler was ordered not to have any unsupervised contact with children. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for next Tuesday with a preliminary exam on February 2.
