COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted on Thursday morning to bring forward to next week’s meeting an amendment to the recently adopted 911 Service Plan which would correct what’s being called an oversight.
County Administrator Bud Norman said the amendment to the plan would include the current membership of municipalities and townships on the 911 Board.
Norman said the 911 Board will be part of the process in the hiring of the next Branch County 911/Central Dispatch Director.
Commissioner Tim Stoll said he has gotten a lot of questions and feedback from constituents.
Commissioners approved the Service Plan last week on a 4-1 vote.
Commissioner Leonard Kolcz objected to action being taken on “something they had not seen in writing”.
But Jon Houtz pointed out discussions have been going on for a year-and-a-half and it was time to move forward.
