LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Statistics from the Michigan Department of Health Human Services on Monday showed Branch County’s COVID-19 positivity rate dropped 4-point-4 percent during the week of January 23 through 29.
The M.D.H.H.S. says there were 76 positive cases out of the 919 tests administered which gave Branch County a positivity rate of 8-point-3 percent after being at 12-point-7 percent the previous week.
Branch County’s level of positive tests went down to Level B which is the fourth highest of the six levels used by the state in its metric to assess coronavirus risk. Hillsdale and Calhoun Counties were also at that metric while St. Joseph County was at Level A with a positivity rate of six percent.
The goal for counties is to have a positive rate of five percent or lower and 37 of the 83 Michigan counties were below that level last week with 17 counties at three percent or lower.
