NOBLE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Michigan D.N.R. Conservation Officers in Branch County are asking for the public’s help in regards to a button buck that was shot and abandoned in a field near Dauber Road and Round Lake Road in Noble Township.
A local conservation officer was contacted by the landowner on Monday afternoon. The officer suspects the deer was killed late Sunday or early Monday.
Officers have reason to believe that this event is related to two bucks that were shot with a rifle and killed in the southern part of Branch County on July 16, 2019 and left to rot in a alfalfa field off of Himebaugh Road between St. Joseph and Mallow Roads which is a mile away from where the button buck was found.
Anyone with information about either of these events is asked to contact the Report All Poaching hotline. You can call or text 1-800-292-7800 and remain anonymous. Tipsters that provide information leading to the arrest or conviction of a poacher will receive a monetary award.
