BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – After last year’s prom was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bronson High School Student Council members presented what they called a safe plan for the 2021 prom during Monday’s Bronson School Board meeting.
The prom is scheduled to be held on April 24 at the Parham Road Barn.
There would be COVID-19 guidelines and protocols which include six foot spacing between tables. There would also be temperature checks and masks must be worn at all times. Seating at round tables would be limited. Food and drinks must stay at the assigned table.
Doors would be opened as much as possible in order to allow for good air circulation.
The maximum amount of sold tickets would be limited to 140 and all state requirements for group gatherings would be followed.
Students are being asked to sign up in groups of six to eight when they buy their tickets.
The students told the School Board they need positive social interaction for their mental health and that seniors need an opportunity to experience a high school prom.
