BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department is going to be busy during the month of February.
In a statement from the Joint Information Center on Wednesday, it was announced that 14 mass vaccination clinics for those 65 and over are scheduled. There will also be seven additional clinics serving Phase 1B Group A for second doses.
Vaccination of Calhoun County teachers also begins this month. Officials say over 2,000 school staff will be vaccinated with nine first-dose clinics in Calhoun County private and public schools.
Vaccine distribution is still on going at the Public Health Department as there have been over 4,500 first doses administrated along with 324 second dose shots.
The Public Health Department administered over 1,800 shots between January 24 and 30.
Any paid or unpaid person serving in the health care system that meets criteria for Phase 1A who has not received the COVID-19 vaccine should contact the Public Health Department at (269) 969-6990.
Officials say the current wait list for those 65 and over who want to receive the vaccine is now over 7,100 people with 400 being added each day.
