COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The upgrading of the City of Coldwater’s fiber optic network continues to move forward as work on the second phase of the project continues.
City of Coldwater IT Director Patrick Pool brought the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors up to speed on where they stood during Wednesday night’s board meeting.
He said the boring work is just about done.
Pool said it looks like the project will come in well under budget.
Aspen Wireless was hired in 2019 by the CBPU to upgrade the system’s 1990’s technology.
When the improvements are finished, it’s hoped the speed and capacity of the system will put it in the top five percent of such networks in the nation.
