WEST LAFAYETTE, IN (WKZO AM/FM) – In men’s college basketball, Michigan State University is on the road to tip off against Purdue tonight.
The Spartans fell to 10-and-8 overall and 4-and-8 in the Big Ten after an 88-58 loss to Iowa Saturday. The Boilermakers are 13-and-8 overall and have an 8-and-6 record in the conference.
The University of Michigan remains at number three in this week’s Coaches Basketball Poll. The Wolverines beat number 21 Wisconsin 67-59 on Sunday in their first action since January 22nd due to COVID-19 issues, Gonzaga is number one, followed by Baylor at number two with Ohio State and Illinois rounding out the top five.
For the sixth time this season, Michigan center Hunter Dickinson has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Dickinson had 11 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots in the Wolverines 67-59 win over Wisconsin on Sunday. He is the first Michigan player to record 10 or more points, at least 15 rebounds and five or more blocked shots in a game since 2004.
