COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Parma Western Panthers scored the first ten points of the game and never looked back as they defeated the Coldwater Cardinals 51-30 on Thursday night in an Interstate 8 contest at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
The Panthers never trailed as they led 12-5 after the first quarter and 25-13 at the half.
The Cardinals were unable to make a serious dent in the Panthers lead as it grew to 38-19 after three quarters.
Jayla Foster and Abby Herman both scored five points for the Cardinals while Allison Miller had five rebounds.
Hillary Griffin had a game-high 12 points for Western. The Panthers are now 4-0 while the Cardinals dropped to 1-4 overall and 1-3 in the Interstate 8.

Western won both of the underclassmen games. They won the JV contest 38-15. Cara Miller led Coldwater with 12 points while Macy Stout had seven rebounds. The Panthers took the freshman game 42-36. Isabella Pool led Coldwater with 17 points while Cee Cee Velazquez had eight rebounds.
In other Branch County girls basketball from Thursday night, Bronson dropped their first Big Eight Conference game of the season as they lost at Jonesville 44-37. The Vikings are now 3-2 overall and 3-1 in the Big 8.
Quincy and Union City both remained winless. The Orioles lost at Concord 45-33 while Union City was beaten at home to Springport 56-25.
