COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – For the first time in 18 days, the temperature in Coldwater got above freezing early Monday morning.
The Branch County Memorial Airport reported 34 degrees just after midnight as temperatures warmed up during the overnight hours.
According to the Weather Channel, Sunday’s high of 30 degrees was the warmest high in Coldwater since February 4 when it was 32 degrees.
Since that day, the highs got into the 20s only five times and there were nine days the highs were only in the teens.
There were also 11 nights when low temperatures were in the single digits or worse. The bottom dropped out last Wednesday morning when the Branch County Memorial Airport recorded a temperature of 13 degrees below zero.
The snow which is on the ground should gradually go away over the next week. Highs are forecast to be in the 30s this week and are expected to be in the low 40s next weekend.
