COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Community Health Agency Director of Environmental Health Paul Andriacchi told the agency’s Board of Health on Thursday that cease and desist orders that were issued to three local restaurants for violating the state’s ban on indoor dining have been rescinded.
According to documents, the Goodie Shop in Coldwater, the Quincy Diner and Spangler’s Family Restaurant in Jonesville offered dine in service after it was banned by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services in the middle of November in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Andriacchi says the businesses are in compliance with the state’s order that restaurants operate at 25 percent capacity and follow COVID-19 protocols.
But he said those businesses are not out of the woods yet with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
Restaurant owners around Michigan who provided indoor dining during the ban mostly said they had to do it in order to survive.
