COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A man charged in connection with a November shooting incident in Matteson Township entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
A court spokesperson says 28-year-old Travis McCann entered guilty pleas to aggravated stalking as well as to a count of possession of less than 25 grams of a controlled substance in an unrelated case.
In exchange for the guilty pleas, all other charges in the two cases will be dismissed which includes counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, felony firearm and discharging a weapon from a vehicle.
McCann is scheduled to be sentenced on April 19.
McCann has had his $100,000 bond revoked when it was determined he tried to contact the female victim through a third party which violated one of the terms of his bond.
The Michigan State Police say McCann fired a weapon in the 900 block of West Colon Road at around midnight on November 11, 2020 following a confrontation with the female victim.
No injuries were reported. McCann was arrested a short time later in LaGrange County, Indiana on unrelated charges.
