COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Administrator Bud Norman told the County’s 911 Communications Board on Wednesday that the screening committee that will be reviewing applications for a new 911 Director has met already.
He says the committee has met twice since the Branch County Board of Commissioners gave the go ahead for the search to begin.
Norman says they have already had a handful of people who have expressed an interest in the position.
He told the board the position will be posted for 30 days.
Norman says if everything stays on track, the process should be completed in May or June.
In other business during Wednesday’s Communications Board meeting, Interim 911 Director Jean Ratkowski said they were looking to fill three dispatcher and two supervisor positions. But unlike in the past, she said they have received over 140 applications thanks in part to the higher wages now being offered. Of those applicants, she felt about 20 were qualified to be interviewed.
