COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency says in their latest update they have distributed over 36,000 COVID-19 vaccines to residents in the three counties they serve. But at the same time, the number of new COVID-19 cases reported in Branch County on Thursday was the highest one day total since January 22.
As of Wednesday, 36,397 vaccines have been distributed by the Community Health Agency. That includes 11,813 vaccines in Branch County, 15,531 in Hillsdale County and 11,994 in St. Joseph County.
According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 14 percent of persons 16 and over who live in Branch County are fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, there were 20 new reported COVID-19 cases in Branch County on Thursday which brought the total amount of cases during the past year up to 3,526.
There have been 87 COVID-19 related deaths in Branch County in the past year. 43 of those deaths were reported between December 2 and February 3 but only six Branch County deaths have been reported since the third of February.
