BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Bronson’s hopes of getting to Kalamazoo’s Wings Event Center in the M.H.S.A.A. Division Four Team Wrestling Tournament were dashed Wednesday night by the Hudson Tigers. The Tigers dynasty shows no signs of fading away as they used seven pins to defeat the Vikings 60-18 in the Team Wrestling Regional Finals hosted by Bronson.
Hudson’s post season experience showed on Wednesday. The Tigers have advanced to the state championship match every year since 2009. That runs includes eight Division Four state titles.
Craig Tappenden, Justin Blankenship and Blayn Gibson all scored pins for Bronson in the match against Hudson.
Fourth-ranked Bronson advanced to Regional Finals with a 59-15 win over the short-handed Union City Chargers who had to void four matches.
Tappenden, Blankenship and Gibson also won their matches against the Chargers. Other Bronson winners in the semifinals were Perry Lake, Logan Long, Dakota Miller, Drew Seekman, Ben Thomas Grate, Aricin Smith and J.C. DePaz.
Winning their matches for Union City were Wyatt King, Garrett Iobe and Brodi Taylor. The Chargers finished with a 19-5 record and a number six ranking in the state.
