COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A street project in Coldwater that was delayed last fall due to the onset of cold weather is now scheduled to start two weeks from Monday.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker told the Downtown Development Authority Board on Wednesday that reconstruction work on North Monroe Street between U.S. 12 and Grand is scheduled to start on April 12.
Weather permitting, the work is scheduled to be completed by Memorial Day.
Baker says after the North Monroe project is done, there will be a major MDOT resurfacing project along U.S. 12 in Coldwater this summer.
The contractor for the North Monroe Street project decided last fall to perform the work in the Spring so as to not potentially get too far into colder weather and end up not being able to finish or pave.
Besides the reconstruction of the street, the work will involve water and sewer mains. Once the works get underway, through traffic will be closed but there will be access to area businesses.
