COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater Community School parent is upset at school administrators because she feels they are not doing enough about bullying.
Rachael Kilpatrick has three children in Coldwater Schools and she says one of them is currently being bullied “pretty heavily.”
She expressed her unhappiness during Monday’s Board of Education meeting with the response she got from Legg Middle School staff.
Kilpatrick took Legg Principal Julie Slusher and Superintendent Terry Ann Whelan to task and told the school board that bullying is a district wide problem.
We asked Slusher and Whelan if they had a response to Kilpatrick’s criticism. Slusher said all responses will have to come from the central office. Whelan has not commented.
In her on line petition, Kilpatrick is asking that the school board take this seriously and launch an unbiased investigation. She is hoping to collect 500 signatures.
