BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Two dozen Branch County wrestlers will be competing on Saturday in the MHSAA Individual Regional Tournaments. Union City will be hosting a Division Four tournament which will be one of 16 around the state.
Bronson advanced 12 wrestlers to the Division Four individual regional tournament at Union City. They include district champions J.C. DePaz at 171 pounds and Justin Blankenship at 215 pounds.
Other Vikings who qualified for the regionals were Perry Lake (112), Logan Long (119), Dakota Miller (125), Drew Seekman (135), Ben Thomas Grate (140), Aricin Smith (145), Craig Tappenden (160), Jared Shotzman (189), Matt Blankenship (215), and Blayn Gibson (289).
The host Union City Chargers sent five onto the regionals including 152 pound district champion Garrett Iobe. Other Chargers advancing were Andrew Linnaberry-Smith (140), Robert Heckman (171), Wyatt King (189), and Grady Iobe (215).
Four Quincy wrestlers advanced to the Division Three Individual Regional Tournament at Constantine. They were Gerl Pish (160), Jacob Reif (112), Tyler Saterlee (189), and Davin George (215).
Three Coldwater wrestlers will compete at the Division Two Individual Regionals hosted by Mason. They are Marshall Hoard (135), Logan Pike (112), and Hashed Abdullah (119).
