BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Two Branch County bowling squads competed on Friday in the MHSAA state bowling team finals.
At the Division Two finals at Century Bowl in Waterford, the Coldwater boys finished 10th in the Team Qualifying Block and missed advancing to match play by 32 pins. The top 8 teams in the morning session move onto the quarterfinal round.
Meanwhile, at the Division Four finals at Super Bowl in Canton, the Bronson girls earned the top seed in the qualifying block with a pinfall total of 2,875. They were followed by Traverse City Christian with 2,773 and Ishpeming Westwood with 2,688.
Bronson defeated Burton Atherton in the quarterfinals 1,092 to 867 but lost to fourth seeded Hanover-Horton in the state semifinals 1,119-931.
The individual finals will be on Saturday.
