BRONSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Deputy “Chaos” tracked down a Bronson man on Friday afternoon who was wanted on felony drug warrants out of St. Joseph County.
The Sheriff’s Department reports deputies were conducting a follow up investigation at a residence on Prairie River Road near Carpenter Road at about 2:00 p.m..
When Deputies approached the residence, a man jumped down behind a vehicle and then took off running.
The suspect was identified as 39-year-old Joshua Barker.
After a short search by deputies, they called for the K-9 and its handler. They responded and tracked Barker for about a half hour.
Chaos located Barker about a quarter mile from the residence hiding in a field fence line, near a small wooded area.
Barker was immediately taken into custody on the felony drug warrants and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.
Sheriffs deputies were assisted by the Bronson Police Department.
