Michael R. Kubasiak, 57, of Coldwater, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson. Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, 2021 from 2:00 PM-8:00 PM at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Mike was born August 2, 1963 in Battle Creek, MI to Thomas R. & Denise C. (Lahmeyer) Kubasiak. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1981. Mike married Teresa A. Rogers on August 4, 1984.
Mr. Kubasiak was a corrections officer working for Lakeland Correctional Facility for 23 years, retiring in August of 2019. He had also formerly worked for Bronson Plastics.
Mike was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Church where he belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Coldwater Eagles and the Coldwater Moose Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and snowmobiling. He played many years of recreational softball and basketball where he made many long-lasting friendships. Mike was a dedicated family man who loved spending time with his wife and daughters, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife Terry, his daughters Kara (Trevor Brown) Kubasiak of Gallup, NM, Katie (Zack) Beaudry of Portage, his mother Denise (Gary) Shrontz of Bronson, siblings Brett Kubasiak of Bronson, Timothy Shrontz of Auburn, IN, Nicole (Brian) Spooner of Union City, his grandchildren Brady and Maya Beaudry, his mother and father-in-law Jerry & Irene Rogers, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his father Thomas Kubasiak, paternal grandparents Ray & Rosemary Kubasiak and maternal grandparents Clayton & Dorothy Lahmeyer.
Memorials may be directed to Bronson Knights of Columbus or Bronson Polish Festival Council.
