COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Three Rivers man who is facing eight charges after Michigan State Police troopers say they discovered drugs and various weapons in his vehicle during a traffic stop on March 15 on the north side of Coldwater has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
56-year-old Arnold Scott Wright waived his preliminary exam which was scheduled for Tuesday in Branch County District Court.
He is facing six weapons charges as well as counts of possession of methamphetamine and third degree fleeing and eluding. A Circuit Court arraignment is scheduled for April 26.
State Police say they found a small baggie of methamphetamine and a loaded magazine for a 9mm firearm.
A 9mm firearm was also found in the car as well as a taser and metallic knuckles.
Court records indicate Wright has multiple prior felonies dating back to 1982 that precludes possession of weapons and ammunition.
Prosecutors also filed a fourth time habitual offender sentencing enhancement should Wright be convicted.
