GRAND LEDGE, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals will play for its first regional title in boys basketball since 1999 Thursday night when they will face the East Lansing Trojans at Grand Ledge High School.
You may recall the 1999 Cardinals finished 24-2 as they got all the way to the M.H.S.A.A. Class B semifinals at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
In a bit of irony, the ’99 Cardinals defeated Sturgis in the regional finals at W.M.U.. The ’21 Cardinals defeated Sturgis last week in the Division One District semifinals on the Trojans home court.
The Cardinals advanced to the regional finals on Tuesday with a 67-54 victory over Portage Central.
East Lansing had to come from behind to defeat Holt 65-56.
The Cardinals are 14-4 while the Trojans are 11-1.
Game time is 7:00 p.m.. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB starts at 6:45 p.m..
