BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – 15 Wrestlers from Branch County will be competing this weekend at the M.H.S.A.A. Individual Finals. With Ford Field unavailable and with indoor gatherings being reduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, two venues are being used this year.
Coldwater’s Logan Pike (112) and Marshall Hoard (135) will be at the Division Two state finals at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
Quincy’s Jacob Reif (112), Gerl Pish (160) and Tyler Saterlee (189) qualified for the Division Three finals which are being held at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.
The Division Two and Three Finals will be held on Friday.
The Bronson and Union City wrestlers will compete on Saturday in the Division Four finals in Grand Rapids.
Bronson got six through to the Division Four finals including regional champions J.C. DePaz (171) and Justin Blankenship (215). Other Vikings qualified for the state finals were Logan Long (119), Dakota Miller (125), Craig Tappenden (160) and Jared Sholtzman (189).
Union City managed to get four through to the D4 finals. The four Chargers competing this weekend are District champion Garrett Iobe (152), Andrew Linnaberry-Smith (140), Robert Heckman (171) and Grady Iobe (215).
