COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two drivers involved in a Wednesday morning crash near the intersection of Marshall and Taylor in Coldwater were taken to the ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
The crash was reported at about 6:48 a.m.. Traffic had to be detoured away for almost an hour while police investigated and the vehicles were towed away.
Coldwater Police continue to investigate but they say it appears a southbound vehicle on Marshall tried to overtake another vehicle but struck it in the rear.
The vehicle which was hit in the rear then crashed into a Coldwater Board of Public Utilties pole which caused about 50 B.P.U. customers to lose their power.
A CBPU crew had to be called in to make repairs and get the power restored for their customers.
The Coldwater Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance were also dispatched to the scene. The Branch County Sheriff’s Department and the Michigan State Police assisted with traffic control.
