COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education special meeting has been scheduled for this Monday, April 12 so that the board can consider bids and possibly take action on the Branch Area Careers Center renovation project.
Sealed bids for interior renovations and upgrades to the Careers Center were accepted until March 23 when they were opened during a Zoom meeting.
According to an ad last month in the Shoppers Guide, the work will include the installation of a new elevator, creating new classrooms in an existing mezzanine, adding a new counseling suite and reworking the existing kitchen.
Two alternates were included for classroom and training room additions on the south side of the school.
The project had a base budget of $3.7 million. When the alternates were added, the project came in at $5.7 million.
If all goes well, the renovation work is expected to start this summer.
The B.I.S.D. Board is scheduled to meet in person at the Waldron Center on Monday afternoon at 4:00 p.m..
