EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – The Pennfield Panthers were beaten by undefeated and top-ranked Grand Rapids Catholic Central 77-54 in the Michigan High School Athletic Association Division Two boys basketball finals at the Breslin Center in East Lansing.
The Panthers were playing in the school’s first basketball state championship game and they battled GRCC to a 31-31 halftime tie.
But GRCC outscored Pennfield 46-23 in the second half. Luke Davis led Pennfield with 17 points. Ryne Peterson added 11 points for the 21-3 Panthers.
