QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 22-year-old Jonesville woman was arrested and booked at the Branch County Jail Tuesday morning following a bizarre incident at a Quincy Township home.
The Michigan State Police reports troopers were dispatched to the report of a home invasion in progress in the 300 block of Maple Road at about 2:00 a.m..
It was reported that the suspect got into the home illegally while the residents slept. The homeowners woke and found the woman trying to climb into bed with them and acting like she was under the influence.
She refused to leave thinking she was inside of her own home. The husband and wife were able to physically force the suspect out of the home without having to use a firearm that was in the home.
The suspect then left in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am. She was located a few minutes later by Troopers on the side of Wildwood Road near Ray-Quincy Road.
The trooper recognized the description given by the victims, conducted an investigation into the matter, and took the female suspect into custody without incident.
The woman displayed indicators of possible intoxication and denied any recollection of being inside the victim’s home.
She was lodged in the Branch County Jail on preliminary charges of Home Invasion and Drunken Disorderly Conduct.
No injuries were reported in this incident. The suspect’s name has been withheld pending her Branch County District Court arraignment.
