COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It turns out the property where the soon-to-be closed Coldwater Family Fare grocery store is located at was sold almost two months ago.
A check with the Branch County Register of Deeds office shows a deed was recorded on February 19 and that the new property owner is listed as Gates Family Real Estate Holdings which is operated by Coldwater native Rick Gates.
Coldwater City Planner Dean Walrack says the property at 410 Marshall is zoned C-1 Community Business District.
Gates says they will investigate some ideas about the property but there is nothing concrete at this time.
SpartanNash has been in Coldwater for over 60 years. The store was a Felpausch before it became a Family Fare store in 2007.
The store is scheduled to close on May 21.
