COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Board of Public Utilities crews will start the semi-annual flushing of hydrants throughout the City on Monday.
As always, flushing will start with Ward One followed by Wards Three, Two and Four.
During flushing, you may notice a slight discoloration of your water.
If this takes place, just run cold water out of your faucet until the water becomes clear.
It would also be a good idea not to do your laundry while hydrants are being flushed in your neighborhood.
If you have any questions, you can call (517) 279-9531.
Whatever happened to the plan that a company from Kalamazoo suggested years ago to horseshoe in all the dead ends so the water has a continuous flow and the hydrants would not have to be flushed? Seems to make a lot of sense in the long run to keep the water running instead of wasting it flushing it down the drains and the manpower to do it. Maybe the new board members haven’t heard of this solution since has been quite a few years. Seems to me the money would be better spent on improving Coldwater in this manner than ripping up the 4 corners parks since it’s hard to find someone who knows how to work on cement! Look at the parking lot behind Culy’s and the Museum Gallery at the Cement work there and see if this is what you want in the parks!!!
