MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater opened Interstate 8 girls softball conference play on Monday as they swept a doubleheader at Marshall by scores of 7-3 and 15-7.
The second game was stopped because of darkness after five innings but it was an official game.
Mia Rzepka was the winning pitcher in the opener. She struck out five and was helped by a pair of double plays. Rzepka also had two hits and a pair of RBI’s. Alexis Bills and Rylee Rice both had two hits in the opener.
Bills struck out eight and was the winning pitcher in the second game as she improved her record to 3-0
Everyone in the Cardinal lineup had at least one hit. Jayla Foster homered. She along with Morgan Dancer, Bills and Rice all had two hits and Rzepka delivered a triple.
The Cardinals have won four straight and are 5-3 overall.
