BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Lynsey Smith and Mya Webb combined on a three inning no hitter Friday afternoon in the first game of a Big 8 Conference doubleheader as Bronson swept Concord 15-0 and 23-3.
Kaylee Withington led the Bronson offense with two doubles and a pair of RBI’s.
Addison Harris was the winning pitcher in the nightcap with eight strikes outs in four plus innings of work. She got plenty of hitting support. Helena Eley homered and had four hits. Smith and Paige Roussey both drove in three runs.
Bronson Coach Becky Grey said, “It was great to get back to winning tonight. All the girls were able to contribute tonight. We still have a long way to go, but tonight was a step in the right direction.”
Bronson is now 6-5 overall and 4-0 in the Big 8 Conference.
Meanwhile, Quincy swept visiting Reading by scores of 14-1 and 17-3. Hayley Wineland crushed 2 home runs and drove in 6 in the opener, while Holiday Williams had 4 hits and 3 RBIs. Morgan Michael was the winning pitcher in both games as the Orioles improved to 6-4.
